            Senator Miller moved to amend the bill on pages forty-two and forty-three, section six, lines eighty-seven through ninety-four, by striking out all of subdivision (7) and inserting in lieu thereof a new subdivision, designated subdivision (7), to read as follows:

            (7) Within thirty days of the effective date of this section, the secretary shall propose rules for legislative approval revising the statewide aluminum water quality criteria for the protection of aquatic life to incorporate aluminum criteria values using a hardness-based equation, in accordance with the provisions of article three, chapter twenty-nine-a of this code. Concurrent with proposing the legislative rules, the secretary shall also submit the proposed revisions and supporting documentation to the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
